Bela Lugosi served in the Austro-Hungarian army during World War I as an infantry captain. He later recounted in stories on film sets about his experiences, which included acting as a hangman. He also said that at one point he hid in a mass grave of corpses to escape death. After being wounded three times, he was discharged while apparently feigning concussion-caused insanity. Which of his performances is your favorite?

Roles Shown:
• Count Dracula, “Dracula”
• ‘Murder’ Legendre, “White Zombie”
• Dr. Vitus Werdegast, “The Black Cat”
• Dr. Alex Zorka, “The Phantom Creeps”
• Ygor, “Son of Frankenstein”
• Armand Tesla / Dr. Hugo Bruckner, “The Return of the Vampire”
• Dracula, “Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein”
• The Vampire, “Mother Riley Meets the Vampire”
• Scientist, “Glen or Glenda”

Menciones: “Bitter Moon”, “Maurice”, “Florence Foster Jenkins” y “The Remains of the Day”.
#5 “Four Weddings and a Funeral” de Mike Newell
#4 “Sense and Sensibility” de Ang Lee
#3 “Love Actually” de Richard Curtis
#2 “Notting Hill” de Roger Michell
#1 “About a Boy” de Chris y Paul Weitz

Watching: Spider-man: Far From Home (2019). Like I’ve said before, Marvel movies lost alot of their appeal for me because I find that there are just too many of them and at this point it’s really all about the money. I guess I enjoyed this one. There was nothing new but it did keep me on the edge of my seat and it did have a few little surprises. I actually preferred Tom Holland as Spiderman in this movie.

King of the Hill (1993)
Director: Steven Soderbergh
Starring: Jesse Bradford, Adrien Brody, Jeroen Krabbe, Lisa Eichhorn, Karen Allen, Spalding Gray, Elizabeth McGovern, Katherine Heigl

9.25 out of 10.
For his third directorial feature, Soderbergh has fashioned a tender coming-of-age comedy-drama which has been his most underrated and overlooked effort. Devoid from the usual licentious streak of his other films, it tells the story of Aaron Kurlander (Bradford), a boy who lives with his underemployed German immigrant father (Krabbe), sickly mother (Eichhorn) and brother Sullivan (Boyd) in a rundown hotel in Depression-era St. Louis. The family struggles to make ends meet while contending with the threat of eviction due to unpaid accommodations, car repossessors and health issues. They are so cash-strapped that Sullivan has to be sent to live with relatives. When his father has to travel for work and his mother has to return to the sanatarium for treatment, Aaron is left alone to fend for himself. The various ways he undertakes to survive forms the film's main body. Bradford gives a remarkable and believable performance. The rest of the cast is also outstanding including Brody, in one of his early movie roles, as Aaron's next-door friend. A pre-stardom Heigl has a small role as Aaron's classmate. Elliot Davis' cinematography bathes the film in an amber tone that enhances its period feel. Leisurely paced, subtle and never maudlin, this demonstrates Soderbergh's versatility as a filmmaker and deserves to be discovered by more audiences. Based on the memoir of A.E. Hotchner.

The Beguiled 🌟🌟🌟🌟
.

I saw the 1971 version a long while ago and really enjoyed it, this remake is quite excellent too. The costume design is stunning and the script is well written. Coppola proves yet again how talented she is as a director a great eye for her shots and the framing is perfect. The performances across the board are outstanding. This is a must see a smart, dark and tense period thriller which will shock as well as disturb viewers.

Movie review
Joker
Rating A
Took a while to make this review cause i wasn't really sure to say and I'm still not sure what to say but wow was this movie good. Joaquin Phoenix is one of my favorite actors and he killed it as joker if he doesn't get a best actor nominee at the Academy awards ill be surprised.I've heard a lot of people say this film is a lot like taxi driver which I've seen once and loved but haven't gotten around to revisiting yet so i can't say whether i think it is similar or not. As for flaws with the movie, i guess the first act took a bit to get going i was kinda bored at times but once a certain event takes place i was hooked.and the ending felt kinda tacked on other then that joker is a great movie with a amazing performance by Joaquin Phoenix and one of my favorites of this year so glad i decided to check it out after originally thinking about skipping it.#moviebuff #cinephile #moviefreak #bluraycollection #bluraycollector #bluraymaniac #blurayjunkie #blurayaddict #bluraybuff #moviereview #movietime #movienight #dvd #movie #moviereview #dvd #dvdcollection #dvdcollector #bluray #movieguy115 #4k #4kbluray

Crawl (dir Alexandre Aja) 2019

Crawl is a very fun movie, and an extremely natural progression in genre film from Alexandre Aja. He does a fantastic job here of taking what could have been a very cheesy premise, and giving it great genre detail.

Essentially, the film is 87 minutes of a father and daughter trying to survive a hurricane and severe flooding while trapped in a house in Florida, while also navigating the massive alligators involved too.

There’s no bones about it, Crawl is claustrophobic, tense, and a very quick paced film. It spends a certain amount of time building up the story, giving everything some background, and then giving the audience what they came for. Despite this, the relationship between lead characters Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper build a nice rapport and give you a reason to get behind their predicament.

Aja does a wonderful job of using geography in this film. He makes each threat of alligators extremely real, using the close knit nature of the house, and the absolute vastness of the water.
Thankfully, some support characters also get involved, and genre audiences will be suitably satisfied at the gore on show.

Crawl is just a fun, brisk 90 minute genre film that you can enjoy, and get scared at along the way.

While these WWE 2k games are usually broken bug-filled I guess you can say garbage on release date I've preordered every game since 2k16 and this year was no different. I always get my money worth with these WWE games and to this day still play 2k19 at least once a week so I don't really mind paying 60$ for it. And from what I've seen of 2k20 so far this year i almost canceled my pre-order but i wanted the feind and didn't feel like paying 15 for the bump in the night pack at a later date so i just kept it going. I'm somewhat excited for release day on Tuesday and the first match in playing is either Johnny Gargano vs Ciampa or matt riddle vs Goldberg or Lesnar hopefully it's not too broken on release day and actually playable.#moviebuff #cinephile #moviefreak #bluraycollection #bluraycollector #bluraymaniac #blurayjunkie #blurayaddict #bluraybuff #moviereview #movietime #movienight #dvd #movie #moviereview #dvd #dvdcollection #dvdcollector #bluray #movieguy115 #4k #4kbluray

The Raid 2 (2014) 🎬 Take One

Sometimes the formula for making a great sequel is simple: take what you did before and just make it bigger, badder, and bloodier. It might not work with Toy Story, but after watching The Raid 2, I'm only 98% sure of that.
-
The first Raid film clocked in at about an hour and forty minutes. It's sequel adds almost a full hour to the running time. This can be very risky for an action movie, but here the time is well utilized. The story is much better because it's allowed to breathe and further set up the universe these films exist in. It also takes time to create much, much better characters while also giving more depth to the hero. The first film introduced ideas, but this movie opens up a world.
-
The movie also brings far more brutality than its predecessor, and that's saying something. These movies are built around incredible, fast paced action, but what's truly amazing is how simple details and edits make moments of action have you go from having your eyes glued to the screen to jumping with startled satisfaction. Seriously, this has some of the best-edited violence I've ever seen.
-
The last bit of praise I want to give this movie is that it is one of those rare sequels that not only surpasses the original, but also enhances it. They go together exceptionally well and neither should be missed.

The first spinoff from The Conjuring, Annabelle is a fictionalised version of one of the Warrens' case files.

An expectant couple are being haunted by a demon after a cult member bleeds onto one of their dolls.

The way this movie envisions the demon's arrival is so stupid. A drop of blood falls in Annabelle's eye and that's how the demon uses her as a vessel. Also, the Warrens said in The Conjuring that she is the vessel of an inhuman spirit, but it is a person who bleeds on the doll. And even later in this film they say it's an inhuman spirit which makes no sense from how they show the demon arriving.

This might possibly be one of the most clichéd horror movies ever. It steals scenes from Rosemary's Baby and tries to pass it off as original. Literally nothing in this film is original.

It also doesn't even make sense that they blame the doll for the haunting, at least at first because early on the doll literally does nothing and later in the film all it really does is hover in the air. We never see the doll move or anything.

The opening to the movie is the same as the opening to The Conjuring, only they cut out Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Obviously they couldn't pay them to be in this trash, but then the rest of the movie takes place before those people from the beginning even get the doll making that scene completely worthless.

Annabelle is a terrible movie and it is a wonder how they managed to make two more after this one.

'Zombieland: Double Tap' doubles down on humor, story, and character consistency - successfully surviving the death march to the movie sequel graveyard.
.
Directed by Ruben Fleischer, 'Zombieland: Double Tap' is the sequel to the 2009 film 'Zombieland', it continues the story of the characters we left off with 10 years ago, as they face a new breed of zombie.
.
‘Double Tap’ benefits greatly by holding onto its core characters - Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita, and Little Rock all return in this road-trip story. Taking hold of the aspects that made the first film a success, this sequel aims to reunite us with its original characters. Director 'Ruben Fleischer' and the talented trio of writers stay loyal to their vision - retaining the tone of the original and producing impressive character consistency. If we had to describe the 'Zombieland' movies in one sentence, we'd simply say it's a road trip comedy with zombies. 'Double Tap' stays true to this, as we follow our characters across the USA encounting colorful characters along the way.

Good Boys (dir Gene Stupnitsky) 2019

Good Boys is a comedy about 3 best friends coming into their teens, and all the trials and tribulations that come into it. Coming from the same producers as Superbad, Sausage Party and Bad Neighbours you certainly notice a lot of the same DNA. Especially Superbad.
I’m genuinely happy to say the film is equally as fantastically cast as that film.
The 3 leads, Jacob Tremblay, Keith L. Williams, and Brady Noon share a lot of chemistry, and you really get the sense they’ve grown up as friends for years.
As more crazy things happen to our 3 leads, you certainly think back to the folks you hung out with at this age, and the scrapes you all got into. It makes everything feel so authentic. The support cast also add some great comedy, with Molly Gordon and Midori Francis having some good aupport lines.
While the film is very funny, it also has some heart to it, it has some nice messages of always remembering your friends, and staying true to yourself.

If the film has some drawbacks, it can sometimes fall too deeply into the Seth Rogen/Evan Goldberg formula, and the jokes can kind of fall into the same category, and has kids offering lots of swears and dealing with mature content.

What I will say about Good Boys, is hopefully it will have young kids checking out the movie at sleepovers and parties.
A fun and enjoyable film to check out for elders too.

Gemini Man 2019

Who is Will Smith's agent and why does he continue to make bad movies? He's a good actor, he's engaging but it's just non stop crap for the last 13 years. I am legend and the pursuit of happiness came out a long time ago.

Smith is a great but older assassin who is betrayed by his own government and soon finds out the one who's trying to take him out is himself cloned from when he was 20. All the while he meets a love interested who was sent to spy on him but after they hit it off she teams up with him.

Gemini Man is nothing you haven't seen before a million times, it's generic as you can get with a action movie. The cast is fantastic but there's nothing to work with. Clive Owen who also needs to find a new agent can still get it done, Mary Elizabeth Winstead is one of my favorite actresses (go watch faults and smashed) and Benedict Wong seems to show up in many good movies being that sidekick guy.

It was also filmed in a high frame rate which was distracting at times and just was not visually pleasing.

⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ ⠀ 4.5/5 - A shy student trying to reach his family in Ohio, a gun-toting tough guy trying to find the last Twinkie, and a pair of sisters trying to get to an amusement park join forces to travel across a zombie-filled America. Zombieland and Malcolm in the Middle were my go to show and movie when I was in middle school. Zombieland I remember being so hyped about it when it was announced because it look so bloody and fun. Even though I wasn’t a big fan of horror back in the day as I am now, I was still looking forward to seeing Zombieland. Zombieland is what I always look forward to horror movies that look over the top, being over the top. The film is just a fun fest of gore and laughs from beginning to end. I love how the film is like a survival guide to the survival apocalypse. Although, one could take some tips like “Rule 32: Enjoy the little things.” As a good tip in life. The characters of the story don’t have names and are named after the city they come from or the the city they want to go. For example: Jesse Eisenberg is named after Columbus, Ohio because that’s where his parents and the destination he wants to go to. The entertainment factor in this is just over the bar high. Not only is there some great zombie kills and fight scenes in this, but there is some great humor in this. There’s a particular funny cameo in this film that I won’t give away for some who haven’t seen this film, but it is so out of knowhere but it’s so funny at the same time. The zombies in this film are fast, furious, and bloody. Nothing really creative in design wise as they look like any zombie you’ve seen in other movies or TV shows, but you’ll get funny moments of kills with them from the main characters especially a clown zombie. Despite a action horror vibe the film, there is good character interaction moments that really drive these characters and overall makes them a family. Woody Harrelson who is named Tallahassee, Florida has this funny quirk about him that mainly throughout the film he is looking for Twinkies. It’s both funny and adds characterization to his character (REVIEW CONTINUED IN COMMENTS)
