The one I got was for frustration and dryness (I got it more for the Chrysanthemum tea 😋). They also have rice teas. Would come again!

年齡是女人的秘密,面對30歲及35歲這兩個人生關口,更是令人焦慮不安!「三字頭」代表開始踏進輕熟女階段,大家都會盤算自己人生、愛情、工作路上達到多少歷程碑。
而從中醫角度來說,35歲卻是更重要的人生關口,因為現存最早中醫理論著作《黃帝內經》記載,女生「五七陽明脈衰,面始焦,髮始墮。」意思是女生從35歲開始,胃及大腸功能開始衰弱,以致面色開始變得暗啞、沒有彈性、出現皺紋、頭髮脫落,這亦與西醫以35歲或以上訂為高鹷產婦的說法不謀而合。

女生踏進35歲,就要認真保養陽明脈,「陽明者胃脈也」,胃經主養氣血,養好胃氣血自然好,要養好胃就要從飲食著手,生冷食物及豆類容易引致胃脹問題,辛辣、油膩、過酸及刺激性食物都會削弱胃的消化功能,不宜多吃。
作息定時、飲食清淡對養胃都有幫助,而且要保持情緒穩定,因為動怒會影響氣血運行。都市女性一般工作壓力大,容易有胃脹、胃酸倒流的情況,每天可以飲米水,也可試試以下養胃茶療紓緩症狀。

養胃茶療(一人份)
功效:疏肝養胃理胃氣,紓緩胸悶、胃脹、多痰及胃酸倒流等症狀。
材料:五指毛桃12克、佛手9克、陳皮1角
做法:所有材料洗淨,鍋中加入800毫升水,放入材料,以武火煮至大滾後調文火煮30分鐘即可。

35- Golden Age for Ladies to Preserve
A lady’s age is a secret, and many begin to worry when faced with turning 30 and 35! Some start to seriously plan for their life, companionship, and career as they enter their 30s. 
From Chinese medicine perspective, 35 is an important milestone as the stomach and intestine functions begin to deteriorate at 35 leading to yellowish complexion, elasticity loss, appearance of lines, hair loss. This coincides with Western medicine deeming pregnancies at aged 35 or above as high risk. 
As ladies turn 35, it is time to seriously protect the Yang Ming meridian, which corresponds with the stomach. The stomach channel nourishes qi and blood, so a healthy stomach means healthy qi and blood. Diet is where one would start. Cold/raw foods and bean products can lead to abdominal bloating. Spicy, oily, acidic and stimulating food can decrease your stomach functions so it would be wise not to consume too much.

忽冷忽熱的季節最易感冒,當有輕微感冒不適出現時,不少香港人第一時間就會想起民間食療「檸樂煲薑」,甚至連學校canteen、茶餐廳都有提供這種飲品,更是遊客們愛喝的港式特飲,認為對傷風感冒有療效,做法是可樂加入檸檬片及薑片一起煮。

由於可樂配方不得而知,未能分析是否有傷風感冒的功效。從中醫角度來看,熱飲的確能稍為紓緩感冒不適,而且當中加入了薑片,薑具有暖胃止嘔、發汗散寒的作用,所以對風寒型感冒會有療效。而檸檬則有開胃消滯、生津止渴功效,對於感冒造成的胃口不佳有幫助。
加入可樂一起煲,味道更甜更易入口,但容易生痰,如果患上風寒型感冒,伴隨症狀為喉嚨痕、痰色白、鼻塞、流鼻水、頭痛等,可以蔥豉湯飲用紓緩症狀。

蔥豉湯療
材料:淡豆豉10克、蔥白3條或大蔥蔥白1條
做法:材料洗淨,蔥切走綠色部分剩下蔥白,以600毫升水煲煮15分鐘即可。
備註:體質偏熱、陰虛燥熱體質人士不宜飲用。

The finicky weather can make people sick easily. A lot of people in Hong Kong think of lemon coke with ginger at the sight of flu symptoms. Ginger can warm the stomach and relieve vomiting, promote perspiration and dispel cold. It just suitable for cold wind flus.  Lemon can stimulate appetite and aid digestion, promote fluid production and relieve thirst. It can improve poor appetite induced by flu. 
When cooked with coke the sweet flavour makes it more palatable, but this can also bring on more phlegm. For those with cold wind flus accompanied by itchy throat, white phlegm, stuffed nose, runny nose, and headache, try making this soup to alleviate the symptoms. 
Healing Soup with spring onion and fermented soy bean 
Ingredients: 10g light fermented soy bean, 3 spring onion stalk or 1 large spring onion stalk
Preparation: rinse all ingredients thoroughly, remove the green portions of spring onion keeping white stalk only.  Cook with 600ml of water for 15 minutes. 
Note: not suitable for those with hot-natured body types or yin deficiency

適當地添加健脾食材如白扁豆、扁豆衣、茯苓、蓮子、芡實等。

材料:紅蘿蔔2根、薯仔2個、新鮮淮山1根、黃豆30克、洋薏米40克、無花果3枚
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨。紅蘿蔔、薯仔、淮山去皮切塊備用。
2. 鍋內加入約2500毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮約1小時,最後下鹽調味即可。
備註:想有暖胃功效,可以加3片薑。

Some people say soy bean is a natural birth control as boy beans is rich in isoflavones. This is a type of plant based estrogen, so consumption of isoflavones can lead the body to believe it is over producing estrogen and reduce accordingly which affects female menstruation and lead to infertility. 
Eating too much of anything even if it is something healthy may have a negative effect. It is important to diversify your food intake and consume appropriate amounts. From Chinese medicine perspective, soy bean strengthens the spleen and can replenish the body. Having too much can lead to qi stagnation and abdominal bloating. You can try adding it to soup. 
Tips:
Add in ingredients to strengthen the spleen such as white hyacinth bean, hyacinth bean coat, poria, lotus seeds, fox nuts. 
Effects: Strengthen the spleen and nourish qi, moisten the intestine and relieve constipation. Alleviate symptoms of obesity, sleepiness, and fatigue. 
Ingredients: 2 carrots, 2 potatoes, 1 fresh Chinese yam, 30g soy beans, 40g pearl barley, 3 figs
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Peel carrots, potatoes, and Chinese yam and cut into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2500ml of water and cook on high heat until boiling. Simmer on low heat for 1 hour. Add salt to taste.

冬吃白蘿蔔行氣生津
冬天是白蘿蔔當造的季節,有個說法是「冬吃蘿蔔夏吃薑,不用醫生開藥方」。冬天容易出現燥熱痰多的清況,白蘿蔔正好可以潤肺、止咳、化痰,而且在天冷時大家多吃溫熱食物,腸胃易積熱,適量進食白蘿蔔能有助清熱消滯。屬性偏溫熱的牛腩煲、羊腩煲中常見配以白蘿蔔,亦採其制衡牛羊燥性的作用,也可減少吃肉類的滯脹感。

白蘿蔔 — 性寒,具健胃消食、化痰止咳、清熱利尿、生津止渴的功效,可紓緩消化不良、胃脹腹脹、噯氣、胃酸倒流,適合氣滯、血瘀體質、高血壓、高血脂及肥胖者食用。惟白蘿蔔有行氣功效,氣虛體弱、虛喘氣短、容易腹瀉、陽虛體質不宜食用,正在服用補氣中藥亦要避免,否則影響藥效。

Have Radish in the Winter 
As it is common to see dry-heat and phlegm issues in the winter, the seasonal radish is a good choice as it helps to moisten the lungs, relieve cough and phlegm. A lot of people may have more warm natured things in the winter leading to heat stagnated in the digestive system. Appropriate consumption of radish can also help to clear heat and improve digestion. Beef brisket or lamb brisket pots are common warm natured dishes, radish is a good complementing ingredient to include. 
Radish- cold in nature, can strengthen the stomach and aid digestion, relieve phlegm and cough, clear heat and promote diuresis, promote fluid production and relieve thirst. Alleviate symptoms of indigestion, abdominal bloating, frequent burping and acid reflux. Suitable for qi stagnation, blood stasis body types, and those with high blood pressure, high blood lipid and obesity. Radish, however, can also help to promote qi circulation, and it is not suitable for those with asthenic qi, shortness of breath, yang deficiency, and tendency to have diarrhea. Those having medicine to replenish qi should also avoid radish as it may interfere with the medicine healing effects.

朱師奶:「近年接二連三看到因過量食用某種常見食材而中毒的新聞,該如何避免?」 CheckCheckCin:其實有毒的常見食材不多,而且多為生吃才有毒,例如秋冬當造的白果,芯的部份帶有小毒,尤其是生的,所以食用前建議除掉,並要煮熟以減低毒性,每次食用量以3至10克為宜。另外,是否空腹服用、年紀都會影響可吃的數量,5歲以下小兒不宜食用。

同樣要煮熟、並只能少量食用的食材還有北杏。大眾煲湯一般不會獨立使用北杏,多配合南杏同用,比例至少一比一。坊間出售的南北杏,一般已經去皮製熟,並已去除含最多毒素的杏尖減低毒性。如果購買到生北杏,記得先用沸水徹底煮熟才能食用。

四季豆、紅腰豆、黃豆及新鮮金針花,未煮熟時都含有輕微毒素,記得浸泡洗淨並徹底煮熟才進食。

如果進食以上食物後感到不適,出現暈眩、噁心、震顫、頭痛、嘔吐及腹瀉等徵狀,宜立即求醫。

Handle ingredients with toxins carefully 
There has been a lot of recent news regarding toxins poisoning, how can we avoid it?
CheckCheckCin: Common ingredients rarely have toxins, and most of the time, the toxins become an issue after over consumption. Take the seasonal ginkgo for example, the core has a bit of toxin especially when eaten raw, so we would recommend removing it before consumption and cook it to reduce the toxicity. Do not eat more than 3-10g each time. Other factors are whether they are eaten on an empty stomach, age, etc. Children under 5 should not have any. 
Another ingredient that should be consumed with caution is bitter almonds and they also need to be cooked. Most people will usually use both sweet and bitter almonds in soup and the proportion would be 1 to 1. Most of the sweet and bitter almonds sold are already cooked and the most toxic portions are removed. If you are buying bitter almonds raw, then remember to cook them thoroughly in boiling water.
Green beans, red kidney beans, soya beans, and fresh orange daylily all contain low levels of toxin when raw, so be sure to soak them clean and cook thoroughly before consumption. 
If you feel unwell after consumption of any above ingredients and experience dizziness, nausea, trembling, headache, vomiting or diarrhea, please seek medical help immediately.

As winter arrives, the desire to have fruits may decrease so you have to choose the right fruit for your body. For example, the hot natured cherries can nourish and strengthen the spleen. Strawberries are cool in nature, but can moisten the lungs and relieve sore throat. Figs are mild in nature and can moisten the intestines and relieve constipation. Find the right fruit for your body type. 
Fruits to increase yang qi: 
Cherry- hot in nature, nourishes qi and strengthens the spleen, dispels wind dampness. 
Peach- hot in nature, replenishes heart and blood, promotes fluid production and moistens the intestines. 
Mango- hot in nature, strengthens the spleen and nourishes the stomach, relieves nausea and dizziness, promote fluid production and relieves thirst, promotes diuresis. 
Pomegranate- hot in nature, can promote fluid production and relieves thirst, relieve diarrhea. 
Rambutan- hot in nature, nourishes and replenishes blood 
Fruits to promote fluid production and relieve dryness:
Pears- cold in nature, promote fluid production and clears heat, relieves dryness, cough and phlegm. 
Apples- mild in nature, moistens the lungs and strengthens stomach, promote fluid production and relieve thirst. 
Persimmon- cold in nature, clears heat and moistens the lungs, relieves thirst. 
Strawberries- cold in nature, promotes fluid production and relieves thirst, relieves sore throat and moistens the lungs 
Grapes- mild in nature, replenishes qi and blood, strengthens the stomach and promotes fluid production.

Rambutan- hot in nature, nourishes and replenishes blood Fruits to promote fluid production and relieve dryness: Pears- cold in nature, promote fluid production and clears heat, relieves dryness, cough and phlegm. Apples- mild in nature, moistens the lungs and strengthens stomach, promote fluid production and relieve thirst. Persimmon- cold in nature, clears heat and moistens the lungs, relieves thirst. Strawberries- cold in nature, promotes fluid production and relieves thirst, relieves sore throat and moistens the lungs Grapes- mild in nature, replenishes qi and blood, strengthens the stomach and promotes fluid production. 清甜滋味椰青雞火鍋
轉眼間已經來到年尾,這時候工作量往往遞增,周末放假實在需要好好放鬆一下!踏入立冬,是時候順應氣候變化,吃吃火鍋,與家人朋友好好聚一聚!近年不少餐廳都有售賣椰青雞火鍋湯底,吃起來味道清甜可口。椰香雞甜,其實材料和做法簡單,在家都能輕鬆做到。椰青性寒,正好減輕雞和火鍋的溫熱屬性。由於火鍋本身屬熱性食物,椰青雞與一般清湯火鍋一樣,整體屬性為微溫,加上沒有多加的調味和油分,是個相對養生健康的火鍋湯底選擇。

材料:椰青2-3個、新鮮雞1隻(切件,想更健康的可去雞皮)、水適量
做法:
1. 椰青切開頂部,倒出椰青水。
2. 將椰青水加入鍋中,再按個人喜好加入適量清水(可加至椰青水同等份量),用大火煮滾,然後加入雞件煮約30分鐘即成火鍋湯底。

素湯底版本:
材料:椰青2-3個、南瓜300克約半斤、去核紅棗4枚
做法:
1. 椰青切開頂部,倒出椰青水。
2. 材料洗淨,南瓜去皮,切塊,以白鍋炒香,將椰青水加入鍋中,再按個人喜好加入適量清水(可加至椰青水同等份量),用大火煮滾,然後加入南瓜及紅棗煮約30分鐘即可。

備註:
- 椰青可用現成包裝椰青水取代,但新鮮椰青更為清甜
- 可用鐵匙羹挖出椰肉加入湯底中
Tasty young coconut and chicken hot pot
With a blink of an eye, we’re nearing the end of the year already. Work tends to pile up so it is important to relax properly on the weekend. As we enter winter, it is the right time to hang out over hot pot with friends and family! A lot of restaurants have been promoting young coconut and chicken soup base as it is quite tasty.  The ingredients are simple and can be easily created at home as well. Young coconut is cold in nature and can balance out the warm nature of chicken in hot pot. As hot pot is a generally already a warm-natured meal, this is a healthier option. 
Ingredients: 2-3 young coconuts, 1 fresh chicken (cut into pieces, remove skin to be even healthier), water 
Preparation:
1. Cut off the top of young coconuts and pour out juice. 
2. Place coconut juice into pot and add in appropriate amounts of water based on personal preference (Or add in same proportion to coconut juice). Cook on high heat until boiling, add in chicken and cook for about 30 minutes and you have your soup base. 
Vegetarian version:
Ingredients: 2-3 young coconuts, 400g pumpkin (about half catty), 4 pitted Chinese red dates
Preparation:
1. Cut off the top of young coconuts and pour out juice. 
2. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Peel pumpkin, cut into pieces and fry without oil. Place coconut juice into pot and add in appropriate amounts of water based on personal preference (Or add in same proportion to coconut juice). 無花果湯滋潤通便
想增加湯水的甜度,大家在煲湯時都會加入蜜棗或者無花果乾,究竟何時加蜜棗?何時加無花果乾?其實煲湯沒有定律,應視乎你的體質和想調補的症狀而定,蜜棗和無花果都能為湯水提供甜味,但功效各異:蜜棗能生津潤燥,適合各種體質;無花果能潤腸通便、催乳,尤其適合紓緩便秘、消化不良、喉嚨乾等症狀。
另外,蜜棗由青棗切割多次後,加白糖煮過再曬乾而成;而無添加糖的無花果乾則是生曬而成,沒有額加入精製糖,但無花果本身的果糖含量則較高,因此有糖尿的病人兩種都不宜吃過多。
如果用無花果乾煲湯,白色和紫色外皮的無花果乾皆宜,但要注意過份潔白的無花果乾可能經過漂製防腐,有可能令湯帶酸味,所以購買時宜到有信譽的商戶購買,選擇無添加的生曬無花果乾更好。

滋陰潤燥湯水小貼士:
適當地添加滋陰潤燥食材如雪耳、沙參、玉竹、乾瑤柱、響螺、蓮藕等。

西洋菜雪梨海玉竹素湯
功效:滋陰清熱潤燥,紓緩天氣乾燥引起的眼乾、口乾、大便乾結等症狀。
材料:西洋菜300克(約半斤)雪梨2個、紅蘿蔔1條、海玉竹30克、無花果3枚
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨。西洋菜很易藏有小昆蟲,應用鹽水泡二十分鐘,再用水沖水備用,雪梨去芯切大塊備用;紅蘿蔔去皮切大塊備用。
