This past weekend was one for the books. Had the best time at @ravedogsports
Ruger Q’d his last Starter Jumper and Standard runs he needed to earn his Agility Dog of Canada Title AND his Starter Games Title. I am so incredibly proud of him. This was only his 4th trial.
Now, I have to mention Cali. She’s made for agility, but because of some bad training on my part with not holding criteria and allowing things to slip, it has meant we’ve had to work harder for longer to fix those mistakes. This weekend showed a lot of the hard work being paid off. Many think a Q’d run is a success and it is, however, when you’ve worked hard with a dog in weaker areas and see those improve or be fixed, those for me are even bigger successes.
While Ruger may have earned titles insanely faster than Cali, Cali’s successes, while taking longer are more impressive and make me more proud.
I’ll end this with a reminder of how incredible dogs are. Never stop working them. Never stop training them. Love them in all their entirety. -
