Mud Report! It’s still winter in the Moab area. Trails that are good, Amasa Back area. Minus Jackson Trail. Some patches of mud will be present on Hymasa, however mostly good.
Trails that are NOT good... pretty much everything else. Lots of snow out at North and South Klodike Bluffs, same at the top of Mag 7, Horsethief, and Chisholm Trails.
Trails on the cusp: Klonzo has some dry trails however persistent snow lurks around most corners. Hard to tell if enough will melt and dry before the weekend. South Klonzo Trails, Red Hot, Hot Dog, Roller Coaster are MUDDY! Those will not dry over the weekend.
Moab Brands are melting out rapidly and will be pretty muddy through the weekend. There is less snow at Bat M, but’s it’s still there.
Navajo Rocks is usually less muddy, however snow on north faces make sandstone stretches treacherous, and people often ride off trail to avoid them. However if these patches melt, Navajo will be acceptable.
We recommend Amasa Back area this weekend, or just keep hiking and skiing! Check our friends at @utavy_moab
for local avy forcast. If your still reading congrats, you win a pony (joke, Grand County will not be giving out any ponies)!
