Day 17 - There have been days where I have felt the entire spectrum of emotions, from pure elation and gratitude to abject sadness, during the course of this confinement. I find it challenging at times to go about my day to day activities as the pandemic looms in the backdrop, especially when I'm acutely aware that the world beyond the confines of my home is falling increasingly further into tatters with each passing day. •
Nonetheless, I refuse to allow myself to slump into a state of utter indolence. I've immersed myself in work, cooking, passion projects, reading, daily workouts, and connecting with all of my favoritest people back home in the states. So my days fly by before I know it.
I can't help but think how apt Laurie Colwin's words from Home Cooking are for coping during this grim period that we're all grappling with: "In short, it is a time to count our blessings, to savor life without rush and to end the work week happy, drowsy and content."
