When you overeat, drowning yourself in cardio is NOT the answer! Insightful post here that you should read • i wannaburnfat I dislike the idea of "doing a ton of cardio" to recover from a splurge. Say you've consumed a surplus of 1000-1500 calories in one day, it's simply not realistic to expect you can burn off an additional 1000-1500 calories in 1 cardio session. Also, treating cardio as a "punishment" usually gets people in the wrong mindset.
If you use your training as a way to, so to speak, "punish" yourself whenever you enjoy more food than you should have, you won't be intrinsically motivated to work out. As cliche as it may sound, I like the saying: "Exercise is a celebration of what your body can do, not a punishment for what you ate."
Once you start associating your training with overall health and physical performance improvements, it'll be more motivating to go to the gym and the progress you achieve is more fulfilling.
As far as "recovering" from a splurge day, the best way to do this is by moving on. In the grand scheme of things, one big meal means nothing if you move on and get back on track with your training and nutrition after. I hope this post helps! Tag a friend who needs to see this. Happy Transformation Tuesday! I can’t believe I haven’t post this.
We often blame current situations for our failures. it’s how you come out of that situation is what really counts. I wasn’t going to let our current situation hold me back from my goals. I’m coming out of this stronger than ever!!
I did this with home workouts, with consistency and hard work, and of course my bomb nutrition. I am doing it!
I can’t wait to see my June results.

Big magic in the works🌿 I grew up on the ocean with the redwoods to my back, in the town of Mendocino, California. I see a lot of my childhood peeking through my artwork- I spent my days with my toes in the dirt and a whole lot of salty ocean water in my hair. Those deep mossy woods and misty beaches always feel like home.
My mother Kristin has now moved back to Mendocino and is setting up shop, quite literally, in the sweetest 1800’s saltbox house right in town. Come follow @folklore.mendocino on its journey, it’s going to be quite the story🖤
