The adrenal glands are part of the the endocrine system, they are glands that sit on top of the kidneys. Nowadays it’s not the matter of if you have adrenal fatigue, the question is, at what level do you have it. The endocrine glands are the government of the body, controlling everything. They control the kidneys and the kidneys control our “sewage-system”: the lymph system. They produce the essential neurotransmitters for the brain and nerves, epinephrine ( adrenaline), no epinephrine and dopamine. Affecting almost all tissue in the boxy, lymph system, vascular system, skin, hair, intestines, kidneys. The sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system regulates unconscious tissue action like breathing, heartbeat etc. Both high and low blood pressure is always a sign of adrenal weakness. Long term effect of week adrenals are: asthma, Parkinson’s, MS, kidney problems, cerebral palsy, panic attacks. The outer portion of the adrenals produce cortical type steroids or hormones, that act as anti inflammatory compounds. The adrenals also control utilization of sugars, underutilized sugars from weak adrenals end up raising blood sugar levels. High blood sugar levels slowly erode the cells in the pancreas and diminish the ability of the cells in the pancreas to make insulin. Permanently damaged pancreas creates heart disease, stroke, kidney and vision issues and nerve problems. Gossiping, negative self talk, fighting and stress also affects the adrenal secretion.
