“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7
How many times have I been anxious this week?
How many times have you been anxious this week?
I think many of us at one point in our life experience some type of anxiety because there is way too much on our plate.
As a wife, mom, working mom, daughter, sister, friend, woman, I try to do it all.
We often hear that we are women and we are capable of doing everything. And as powerful as this sounds, I like to believe it at times, but I also know that I cannot do it all.
I can do anything, but not all.
When we focus on all the hats we wear as women, we end up sacrificing something, and that is usually our mental sanity.
As women we are nurtures, and we like to take under our wings every one that we often forget about ourselves.
We sacrifice our time for our husband and children, work and relationships, and at times we lose our relationship with ourselves.
Sometimes we begin wondering who am I? Did I lose myself in the process?
And sometimes it may seem like we have lost ourselves in the process, but we haven’t.
God is right there with us, giving us strength, love, patience, and everything else that we need in order to pour into those entrusted to us.
So, if you don’t take anything away from this, I am here to tell you, that you are doing a great job, and don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. Do not let others make you feel like you are not enough, because to God you are. To your children, you are. To your family, you are the world.
Therefore, if you are anxious is because you have been trying to do it ALL on you own instead of reaching for the One who makes it all possible.
Reach out to God, and He will lead you. He will strengthen you to be that support others need from you!
Be a women of strength. Be a woman of grace. Be a woman of God!
