Orange-breasted Sunbird • This male sunbird was feeding in and around these flowers. As with North America’s hummingbirds, they are nectar eaters. Females are a dull green colour and that’s why we can tell this individual is a male! This species is only found in a very limited range in south-western South Africa. They do migrate however, but instead of latitudinally they move up the mountains such as Table Mountain during the summer to search for later blooming flowers to feed on.
