I watched a documentary a couple weeks ago that featured the grey jays of Algonquin Park. It spoke about the state of their habitat and the impact climate change is having on them. I found it fascinating to learn they store their food in the crevasses/sap of trees to be preserved through the winter. But, I was saddened to learn that the increase of temperatures now results in the food going bad before they can eat it. Having spent some time with these beautiful birds recently, I can’t imagine the thought of them having to leave Algonquin or dying out entirely. Climate change causes so many ripples we can’t always see, effecting the tiniest, most beautiful creatures.
