I’ve heard this one so many times. I get it the smell of vinegar is so strong. But it’s a smell I would pick any day over bleach, petrol or disinfectant.
All you need to do is get the quantities right and trust me your house will not be left smelling like someone slipped with the vinegar.
WHAT IS VINEGAR?
White vinegar is comprised of acetic acid (about 5-10%) and water (about 90-95%), which yields a vinegar with an incredibly clean, crisp, strong taste. Acetic acid doesn't just fall from the sky though (hopefully). It's the result of a fermentation process where tons of little microorganisms eat and process alcohol (ethanol), dispensing the tart, pungent liquid we know as vinegar. You can make vinegar out of anything that has alcohol in it—wine, hard apple cider, and even beer—and white vinegar is made from a vodka-esque spirit distilled from grain. Microorganisms get drunk, and we get vinegar. Cool.
Vinegar has been used for cleaning for hundreds of years and when I say hundreds I mean hundredssssss. Actually vinegar is as old as civilisation it’s self. No joke! It’s traces back to 3000 BC and Babylonian scrolls record use vinegar even before that. This my friends was known as the “poor mans life wine” mmm yum!
So why is it so good for cleaning?
Because it is so acidic. It’s so great at dissolving away soap scum, bribes left my hard water and glue left by stickers.
I just love vinegar it’s so versatile and hello it’s so cheap.
My vinegar recipe that doesn’t stink:
* 1/4 cup of vinegar put into your bottle and let it air out for 30minutes
* 40 drops of essential oil - I love the strong oils with vinegar : lemongrass, eucalyptus, clove, oregano, cassia, tea tree or purify.
* Fill with filtered water
Let me know how you go Sally!!!
