"Help us help"
This became our mantra for 2019 at Fairplay Pet Supply. In April of 2019, we began to discuss an idea for giving back to the community as part of our centennial year. With the Calgary economy in a rut there were fewer and fewer resources for the marginalized people in our city. The more we started to research and talk to those on the front lines helping the homeless, seniors and veterans in Calgary, the more we became determined to find a way to assist those that needed help caring for their pets.
We spoke to our suppliers and they were overwhelmingly supportive with donations of pet food and supplies as well as moral support. When we put the idea out to our customers they opened their hearts and gave and gave. Soon our warehouse was full.
The Project was off the ground and moving full speed ahead. We contacted numerous agencies in Calgary, looking for the best fits to get all of the supplies to those most in need. We identified a core group of agencies whose clients could benefit most from our participation.
