Q: what are you “on the come up” for? 👀
Bri uses the saying “on the come up” to describe how her music could get her and her family out the projects.
I’m on the come up to being a better me: connecting with people who are doing the work & creating the community/family I’ve always wanted to be a part of.
It’s in my control. It’s in yours too.
p.s. I’m close to being halfway done. I think I read close to 180 pages today (I’m putting it down. My eyes hurt lol).
This is YA... I’m usually not a fan of YA, BUT, I’m giving Angie Thomas a chance to “wow” me and see if I’ll pick up The Hate U Give.
There’s already been a few parts that have made me go “wow...she’s such a dramatic teenager”. Like I haven’t been one before too lol.
Sometimes, you can be biased to your own experiences.
Sometimes you gotta check your attitude because you weren’t always this “better version of yourself”.
But I do hope Bri finds her better version 🎤
