Just as the Earth Body starts to change with the upcoming Spring, I feel my human body changing as part of Her. And my kitchen starts shifting too, first it’s subtle I crave different foods and suddenly I have more energy and just move more, I start getting lighter...
It’s no secret that Apple Cider Vinegar is one of my favorite mediums for liquid herbal extracts, mainly because it’s super versatile. I basically use herbal cider everyday in one way or another. I was first hooked with #FireCider
, adding it to soups, ceviches and crafting dressings with it. Everyone seems to love it and the non believers don’t even notice the medicinal layer of my food 🤪.
With the waking Spring, I also start getting allergies and my hair seems to be oily one day and dry the next one. Yup, herbal ciders work for that too! Here’s a hair rinse that I crafted today for whenever I need a restart and a deep cleanse. I just mix 1 part cider with 1 part shampoo, massage my scalp and allow it to work its magic for 5 minutes before rinsing it throughly. Easiest recipe here- one handful of each of these plants (use what you have around that you know it’s good for hair/skin, there’s no going wrong): Rosa~ Rose, Savila~ Aloe, Ortiga~Nettle, Lavanda~ Lavender, Estafiate~ Mugwort, Romero~ Rosemary, Cola de Caballo~ Horsetail, Salvia~ Sage. Coarse chop everything together, I like using my hands or clean scissors for fresh plants and the molcajete for dried ones. Place in a glass container, cover with ACV and close tightly. I let it infuse for a moon cycle, shaking it around every time I remember. Then strain, bottle and label. Happy hair masking! 🙌💘
