You can tell by my shoes that Bluesfest was incredible this year (don't worry, the buttersocks survived) Big thanks to both @offspring
for putting on incredible shows at @ottawabluesfest
It was my first time actually seeing The Offspring live, and I so hope they tour nearby again. I've loved them so much since I was 8 (I remember wanting to buy Americana in store but my Mom was grossed out by the cover- she came around once Splinter released!) They were amazing! I screamed so much!!! Gone Away (one of my favourites, really helped me with familial loss) was THE PERFECT rendition. SO BEAUTIFUL. It kills me that we'll likely never get a recording of that half-ballad/half-hard rendition. I went so hard in that crowd that I got kicked in the face by a rogue crowd surfer, AND someone professed their love to me in the pit. It was a concert I will always remember and I do hope I'm able to see them again 😍
It was my second time seeing alexisonfire, and last time I saw them, it was at Bluesfest as well! I was excited to see them back then, especially because we were from the same hometown. I was ~14 years younger, and my afterwards, Mom actually brought me over to where they were signing fans, and I got to meet them and they signed my shirt that I wore. I still have that shirt somewhere! Thanks Mom for allowing me to go. I know she watched anxiously from the sidelines and probably shat a brick when she watched me crowd surf out of the pit for the first time. She likely would have shat MANY bricks if she had seen me jumping happily into those circle pits 😬 the show was amazing, George ripped shirts and bent mic stands. TRU POWER. I hope I'm able to see them again in the future as well, I didnt think I'd be lucky enough to see them for a second time!
