Recently, I have been happily clicking and collecting my shopping, with an occasional pop in for milk or bread. Today I ventured to Aldi because I missed it, plus, they don't have click and collect. I felt good and was ready to hit up the middle for stuff I didn't need when I was quickly reminded why I enjoy ordering online and waiting in my car to have the shopping delivered. .
Firstly, I bumped into Karen and Susan. They obviously know each other, saw each other in the supermarket and took it upon themselves to chat for aaaaages right in the entry with trolleys that block the access to the spreads and BBQ shapes for everyone else 🤦♀️ Guys, I love a catch up but if you plan to have a chat please walk and shop together, go for a coffee after or perhaps just send messages via WhatsApp and never actually talk in person like the rest of us 😂😂😂
Then I came across Sarah, Joel and baby Oliver. It's apparent that Oliver is only a few weeks old and Sarah isn't comfortable shopping alone with him, this is 100% fine. However, Sarah is pushing the pram while Joel has the trolley. Clearly Joel is new to the supermarket scene and has dumped the trolley in the middle of the aisle while they stand in front of the meat with the pram, discuss the prices and try to keep Ollie happy. For the love of god, please move your trolley and ginormous pram, let me grab some chicken tenders and be on my way. .
Finally, I made it to the registers and encountered Nancy. Actually I found three of them. Once I put my shopping on the belt, I let one Nancy through as she only had 4 things, then another one popped up behind me, I let her in too as she only had a couple of things. Obviously by this point word had spread to all the Nancy's and there was another behind me looking at me and hoping I would let her in. This one even commented about how much stuff I had *hint 😉😉*. Anyway, I didn't let this 3rd Nancy in. My shopping was ready to go and while I know she probably needs to get home to Gordon and the cats I also have things to do today.
I do like people, I just don't like supermarkets. It's back to click & collect for me. *names mentioned may not be 100% accurate * 🤣
