As I sat on my roof in the wee hours of the morning trying to capture (what would eventually be a failure) a timelapse of the sunrise I almost didn't notice this kite soaring right around my rooftop. I was so focused in getting the timelapse right, perfectly calibrating the compass, tracking the path of the sun and setting the tripod accordingly that I forgot the cheque factor. Weather. It turned to be cloudy and there was no visible ball of light till 8:30AM.
As I sat there brooding letting my setup just capture the clouds shifting and the sky change colour a bit I looked up at the clouds and saw this kite. The entire setting of it was so cinematic. The gloomy clouds, the faint sunlight escaping from between them, the lone kite gliding among them.
All of this together just seemed so perfect in the moment that I forgot all about the failed timelapse. I was barely able to capture this visual symphony but boy am I lad that I did.
As for the track, well it was what I was listening to in the morning. #AlanWatts

I edited this on @blackmagicnewsofficial #DaVinciResolve
I had been fearing this software for so long because it's so brilliant and it's capabilities are far reaching (also what makes it so complex)
Hope y'all like this edit just as much.
Here's to a some more projects being edited and especially more #colorgrading
