I’ve been having all the feels this quarantine. So many mixed emotions, and while every experience is different, I know I am not alone. And neither are you. And it’s okay.
Some days you may feel grateful, and others you may not. That’s okay.
Some days you may be able to “look at the bright side”, and others you may just think this whole thing sucks. That’s okay.
Nobody can tell you how to feel, because none of us had ever lived or had to process a situation like this one before. And it’s a lot to process.
And you are allowed to grieve. The loss of “little things” is still loss. And these “little things” are not so little: classes, physical social contact, reunions, your routine, a job, the freedom to go out to the store.
And yes. This is all temporary. It is human nature to want to be happy and seek out pleasant emotions. But we all hurt sometimes, too. And that’s okay. We don’t have to ignore or reject that hurt. We don’t have to try to cover it up. We don’t have to minimize it because “other people have it worse”. It’s there. And what we can do is welcome it, sit with it, and allow ourselves to feel it and let it out. It is only temporary.
