I’m not a Pinterest mom. I do not enjoy crafting. Like at all. But I do have a desire to make special days special. Like tomorrow is Leap Day. It’s even more special then regular holidays because it’s so rare. I asked my kids what the best day ever would look like. They came up with the simplest answers. It made my heart happy that they weren’t requesting big grand activities. So tomorrow. We are sleeping in. Eating donuts. Going to the park and going to get ice cream. It’s going to be a fantastic day.
Holidays with your husband are kind of the same thing. We often “think” that the big grand gifts and activity will make us the happiest. But when push comes to shove, it’s the small things that really make us happy. A big gift means nothing if the day to day expressions of love don’t exist.
When you start feeling unhappy with your day to day. Think about the little things that you’ve been denying yourself. Add those back and I promise your day will get brighter.
