I'll be honest, I've been in need for some MAJOR distractions with everything going on. To keep myself busy and distracted I've been indulging in a lot of Indian movie marathons lately.
1)Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.
UGH! Is the first thing that comes to mind! Such a classic and legendary movie that will make you cry even if you've never shed tears before, in a good way of course! It's rooted in family, what is family, who is family, and what makes a family a family. A lot of ups and downs but that's every Indian movie for you. 👨👩👦👦 2) Tare Zameen Par.
A sweet, down to earth movie about an elementary school student that has dyslexia in a culture where learning disabilities are labeled as being "dumb," until a teacher comes and shows the student, Ishan, that his differences don't make him odd but special 🥺
3) 3 Idiots.
Such a funny and heart warming movie. Really digs into the brown culture of either becoming "a doctor, engineer, or lawyer." The movie really gets into the struggles of university life and how there is more to life then just studies, you have to live a little! A lot of amazing life lessons with some amazing songs. 😌
So pick a movie, grab a snack, air dance to the hindi songs and try to enjoy and stay calm during this quarantine!! Nurzahan Rahman, English major, @rxreading
