At the Central Government Offices The Chief Executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, told reporters that she is "sincerely apologize" to every Hong Kong citizen.
The requests she did not respond in Press Conference are as follows:
1. Extradition bill
Mrs. Carrie Lam said that the work of amending the regulations had stopped on June 15. If the dispute is not handled, the procedure will not be restarted, but it is not explicitly withdrawn. CBS reporters questioned about that because some people criticized Carrie Lam as "habitual liar."She only reiterates that the government has suspended the extradition bill. She asked the Government's internal opinion that there is no difference between "suspension" and "withdrawal."A reporter asked Why did you refuse to use the word "withdrawal"?Carrie Lam said that "I have already answered two question, I hope everyone understands", and then there is a reporter asked the same question but she did not answer.
2. Qualitative "riots"
As Lo Wai-chung(Commissioner of Police) characterized the riots of June 12 last night, she said that I had nothing to add in his statement. Some have pointed out that according to the current regulations, there can be no same occasions, some people are rioting and some people are not rioting.Carrie Lam did not respond, but only referred to the law enforcement department.
3. The police used excessive force.
Mrs Lam said that if the public have any views on the handling of police officers, they can make a complaint. The existing mechanism is "effective and secure".She was being asked if the police did make a mistake or not.She said that "I can't make a judgment today" because she can't override the mechanism. A reporter asked if the "Special Tactical Squad" had no Employee number on them then how the public can make a complaint. She did not respond.
