✨Empowered ✊🏾✨ So many emotions have gone through my mind while this movement unfolds. A lot of tears. Happy tears, sad tears, tears for the lives lost, tears of gratitude. I've gone through my life feeling the sting of racism on almost a daily to weekly basis. But no one would take it seriously. I am not the only voice which was silenced. My brothers and sisters have also grown up this way. It took the life of another innocent man to cause the world to wake up and say enough is enough. I am overwhelmed by the amount of support I am witnessing amongst our allies, public figures, and even public corporations. I never thought I would ever receive an email from McDonald's (my 1st ever job!) with the caption: "We stand with black communities." I have seen so many social media sites make similar statements. Even my jobs(s) and university are in support of uplifting the many voices who have been silenced for years.
Thank you to everyone who has chosen to be apart of the revolution.
It's never too late to stand up for what's right. #saytheirnames #georgefloyd
