It's #NationalIcedTeaDay - a perfect occasion to celebrate! You can create unlimited variations of refreshing drinks by adding a few ingredients to an iced tea.
One of my favorite recipes is an iced tea float with lemon sorbet. It's very easy to make, super delish and refreshing. Just add a scoop of lemon sorbet in a tall glass of iced tea and garnish with lemon zest. I used organic Passion Fruit & Pineapple Hibiscus Tea by @pureleaf for the base.
What's your favorite recipe?

We’re are flying to Mexico tomorrow, for the first time without Cookie. Not going to lie, I’m a bit nervous because he’s very attached to me and has serious separation anxiety.
However I realized that I’ve been avoiding doing things I love and travel to places I wanted to visit just because they weren’t dog friendly, which was limiting my lifestyle considerably. I felt guilty for leaving him alone (well not really alone, but with my family;) But this year I decided to take a leap and do things differently. Jump into the unknown and open my heart to new possibilities.
We’ll be going on some adventures and I’ll keep you posted;) 🙌🏼

Speed can be fun, productive and powerful, and we would be poorer without it. What the world needs, and what the slow movement offers, is a middle path, a recipe for marrying la dolce vita with the dynamism of the information age. The secret is balance: instead of doing everything faster, do everything at the right speed. Sometimes fast. Sometimes slow. Sometimes in between.

Each day brings new opportunities, allowing you to constantly live with love, be there for others, bring a little light into someone's day. Be grateful and live each day to the fullest.

Supporting my daughter @artlarasaunders to pursue her dreams,
seeing her growing and evolving was the most rewarding feeling I ever had.
Last year I decided to take her out from high school. Although she was a very good student and had high grades she was quite miserable there: all she wanted to do was drawing and painting.
Of course, most teaches and parents thought I was insane and an irresponsible parent for not wanting her to send to college.
Although I have two master degrees myself, I believe that college degree is unnecessary for a creative person, especially nowadays when there are so many incredible resources available.
Spending so much time on learning tons of irrelevant subjects seems to me so absurd and a waste of time and money. And there is no diploma in the world that declares you an artist.

I’m not sure who‘s more excited about Mother’s day - me or Cookie;) We’re having a lovely family gathering today filled with super delicious vegan treats and refreshing flowery @pureleaf ice teas.
Where do you usually get fresh cut flowers? Here in NYC, flowers are ridiculously expensive. I try to find deals at farmers markets, where local farms sell their own flowers. Some of my favorite ones are ranunculus, they are so delicate looking but can easily last about a week. 🌸

Would you post the same content if there were no likes? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A few weeks ago I read an article that Instagram is considering removing likes. I thought it was a great idea and it would help this platform become more authentic.
I caught myself thinking “I’d definitely post more photos that truly resonate with me but aren’t really popular and don’t get much engagement”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then I thought: “Hey, who stops you from posting this content now, regardless of whether people would like it or not? If you want to be authentic and enjoy what you’re doing, you have to start living this life now”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So here I am posting a photo that I like a lot but don’t expect to get much engagement. ;)
I hope this will resonate with some of you. Let me know what you think 🌸

A few days ago my daughter showed me a video about an extreme minimalist on YouTube. And although it was really somewhat extreme I got very inspired. I‘ve had a dream to live in a empty house (or at least to have one empty room for meditation) for so many years.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When I moved to NYC from Germany almost 11 years ago, I only had two suitcases of things. I got divorced and felt so liberated to leave all things behind. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But then, in the past 11 years I accumulated so many props for my photography business. A lot of them I didn‘t even use once. So now I‘m in my 3rd wave of spring cleaning and I‘m getting rid of more and more things. It‘s so liberating and uplifting!

And here‘s a little doodle of Cookie and a video of him „being Cookie“, hope this will make you smile ☺️🍪

New possibilities and peace of mind 🌿
.
Work, family responsibilities, daily chores and Instagram occupied almost all my time for the past 6 years. I found myself running inside of a wheel like a hamster not knowing how to stop. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Last October, I decided to change my daily routine in order to create more time and mental space for the things I really love doing. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I started getting up between 4:30-5:30am so that I could meditate in the morning before everyone wakes up. This totally changed my life. I got rid of anxieties (especially work related) and gained more energy and mental clarity. I opened my mind to new possibilities and things started to change for the better. I only wish I’d done it earlier.

After I cut down my time spent online,
I suddenly got back so much time for things I used to enjoy before social media existed: reading books, learning foreign languages, going to the opera and museums, drawing and painting, learning new skills, meditating and just taking longer walks in the park.
Here’s a little sketch of Cookie. I‘ve been working on a couple of interesting projects and I’m looking forward to posting more content soon ;)
Wishing a Happy Easter and Passover to all my friends who celebrate these holidays! 🌿🕊

Dreamy, magical and ethereal . . . Magnolia time in Central park
Dreamy, magical and ethereal . . . Magnolia time in Central park
Yesterday was such a lovely, warm day in NYC and I already saw the first magnolia buds and little green leaves, which is quite unusual for this time of the year. Normally it happens around mid April. I‘m very excited about it, because Central park looks so mesmerizingly beautiful at this time of the year.🌸
