"Located an hour away from Bangkok is Wat Sampran, a Buddhist temple like no other. I originally came across it online and knew that I had to experience it for myself. After some planning, I woke up early to get there for sunrise, only to feel I was in a different world. As a fan of 'Dragon Ball Z' growing up, the nostalgia I felt was powerful — taking me back to my childhood and reminding me Shenron, a dragon from the show. To this day, Wat Sampran remains one of my favorite pieces of architecture I’ve ever witnessed."

There’s no such thing as bad publicity, right? Try telling that to Dubrovnik. The gorgeous Croatian city on the Adriatic Sea has been overrun by throngs of selfie-stick-toting tourists, thanks in part to its role as King’s Landing on the uber-popular HBO series “Game of Thrones.” The show’s pull on its viewers is magnetic, drawing fans to its famous filming locations all across the globe. Though a tourism boom at first, this “Game of Thrones effect” is now threatening the future of these destinations. So, we figured the best way to celebrate the show’s eighth-season premiere would be to direct your attention away from its beautiful settings and highlighting a host of other series’ filming locations instead. Click the link in our bio to embark on entertainment pilgrimages across Scotland, New Mexico, and everything in between.

"While on assignment in Peru, I trekked through the Cordillera Huayhuash, and these folks were our escorts as we journeyed through their homeland. It was unbelievable how much faster they were than us. Over the course of three days, we hiked 65km at an altitude as high as 4750m. I was feeling sick due to the altitude, but the scenery at Lago Jahuacocha allowed me to forget about it all, even if it was just for a moment. I never realized Peru's landscape had so much versatility beyond Machu Picchu!” Interested in having your own outdoor Peruvian adventure? Click the link in our bio.

"I grew up riding the Matterhorn rollercoaster at Disneyland, so that's what I envision for the word 'mountain'. While finally visiting Zermatt and seeing it for myself, there it stood framed almost too perfectly above the quaint Swiss village as though a theme-park illusion. Being able to quietly soak in the final moments of light hitting the tip of the Matterhorn will always be one of my strongest memories of Switzerland."

"Like almost everything in Tasmania, Gordon Dam is a sight for sore eyes. It’s a 140-meter (460-foot) concrete arch dam that was built in 1974, leading to the creation of a massive freshwater lake. I decided to head out there in the evening to watch the sunset over the canyon. The excursion required a long detour off the main road, so by the time I got there, there wasn’t a single other person near the dam. I love how peaceful my experience was, and I love how the photo reflects that; photography has always helped me see things that other people might not get to witness for themselves." #CapitalOnePartner When we align our passions with the destinations on our boarding passes, we become closer with the soul of a place. When we connect with the soul of a place, we come home with more meaningful stories. And when we come home with more meaningful stories, we can’t help but share them with others. Our personal narratives contribute to a greater conversation, encouraging those around the world to view travel differently.
Traveling with intention may require more heart, thought, and time, but it gives back, twofold, what it takes. Click the link in our bio to learn how we can work together to give our journeys purpose. @capitalone #MeaningfulMoments #passionpassport

“I found this place by chance on Google Earth and promptly booked a plane ticket. I went in the morning. The atmosphere was quiet throwing me almost alone — save for the sounds of the birds and locusts — in the streets. Then the sun rose and illuminated the colorful facades of the Barrio. The google image was beautiful, but it was nothing compared to the rainbow of colors at sunrise, orange glowing most of all."

"In the beginning stages of our trip, we planned on visiting Torres Del Paine in June but were sidetracked by all the beauty South America had to offer. We finally arrived in December. The night before the rain was pouring hard on our tent, and the peaks were completely covered. We were told that the weather in the park was unpredictable, but would most likely going to be the same in the morning. Waking me up at 1:45am, the rain had stopped and a few stars were shining bright. Half asleep and muscles burning from 4 hours of intense uphill, the sky began to turn blue and orange. We finally arrived at the mirador and goodness, what a sight to behold."

"Every chance I get, I go visit Matera and its incredible ‘sassi’. There is a strange sensation that comes with walking through the streets of the historical centre, and no matter how many times I revisit, little details continue to reveal themselves. The atmosphere, the light, the landscape, and of course the focaccia bread – I can’t help but fall in love with this place."

“Looking back on our time in Cambodia, I think the color yellow and the feeling of warmth, happiness, and adventure it provoked played a wonderful part in our experience. We got very lucky with the weather, and each sunrise and sunset bathed everything it touched in the most magical golden light. This pushed us to make the most out of our time every day — we always made it outside for sunrise and sunset, even when we were tired from our daily activities. If it weren’t for this opportunity as winners of the #PPExpediaYellow contest sponsored by @expedia, we might not have visited Cambodia any time soon. It was one of our favorite trips, full of moments we will remember for a lifetime.”
