The decalibron. I believe this was number 3, 4, 5 , 6 of my 14ers complete. Mt Democrat, Mt Cameron, Mt Lincoln, Mt Bross. Technically Bross is on private property and its actually considered trespassing to summit but no body enforces it. You need to get it tho, in order to complete all 58 14ers. Or 54 depending on how you count it. The saddle has to drop more than 300 ft and some other stipulations to be considered a 14er. But i am counting the last 4 for a total of 58 when I'm done. .
Sometimes when i hike i meet a ton of new people other times i meet rude and weird people. For example one day i was hiking princeton and some body handed me a pamphlet for jesus to save my soul. We were in the middle of nowhere on a 14 thousand foot mountain and i still got a lecture why mt princeton was the devils mountain and i needed saving. I mean thats a lot of dedication. To those awesome few i met this day Yall know who you are glad we met. Hopefully i run into you again on the trail. .
These 4 are pretty easy to hike. I had to start hiking at 2 am and barely made it to the top for sunrise. Once i hit the saddle and it turned to rock, the trail was a bit hard to follow, i kept stopping and questioning the route. Right after summiting Democrat the winds kicked up, and started gusting to 60mph. The termperature dropped drastically. I had to use my socks as gloves, people in shorts and a t shirt were hiding behind rocks to warm up. If you want to know what this experience is like, drive down your local highway in 30 degree weather at 60mph and just stand on the roof. I was determined and finished all 4, it was so miserable towards the end.
