We join the nation and, indeed, the world in heartbreak and despair over the death of George Floyd, as well as the pain and deaths of so many others. Recent events have again shined a light on inequality, cruelty, and senseless violence.
Real change must come from each of us, as well as the institutions that have been granted stewardship over our individual and collective well-being. The strength and joy of our community has always been our shared love and embracement of diversity. We’re strengthened and enriched by our differences and drawn together by our universal desire to make the world a better place.
In the spirit of inclusion, we must now peacefully and compassionately come together, treat each other with respect and kindness, and build a world where we can all feel safe and fulfilled as part of a greater whole.
