President Donald Trump formally launched his reelection campaign Tuesday night at a packed 20,000-person arena in battleground Florida.
At his 60th rally of his presidency branded as a 2020 campaign kickoff, Trump made clear that he plans to run on the same formula that narrowly delivered him the presidency in 2016. He rallied against illegal immigration, promised mass deportations and going after Hillary Clinton.

The US Postal Service issued a commemorative "Forever" stamp honoring former President George H.W. Bush. The new stamp was released on what would have been the late President's 95th birthday. The stamp was painted by artist Michael J. Deas and based on a 1997 photograph taken by Timothy Greenfield-Sanders. "Throughout his life, President Bush enjoyed sending handwritten letters to friends, colleagues and family, so it is especially fitting to honor him with his own stamp," chairman of the USPS Board of Governors Robert M. Duncan said.

The USPS officially dedicated the stamp during an event at Bush's presidential library in College Station, Texas, that included members of the 41st President's family. 📲 Link in bio for more 📸: U.S. Postal Service

Jon Stewart ripped lawmakers for skipping a congressional hearing over health care for 9/11 responders. "Sick and dying, they brought themselves down here to speak to no one," Stewart said, tearing up. "Shameful. It's an embarrassment to the country and it is a stain on this institution. And you should be ashamed of yourselves for those that aren't here. But you won't be, because accountability doesn't appear to be something that occurs in this chamber." #congress #cnn #politics #houseofrepresentatives #houseofreps #firstresponders #neverforget #cnnpolitics

US President Donald Trump hailed D-Day veterans as “among the very greatest Americans who will ever live” during a speech marking the 75th anniversary of the Normandy invasion.

In a speech laced with individual stories of extraordinary heroism and loss, framed by the aging faces of those who experienced it, Trump memorialized an event that changed the course of World War II.

Trump singled out Russell Pickett, among the first waves of American infantrymen who landed on Omaha Beach. “Tough guy,” Trump said after returning to the podium.

Tom Rice, a 97-year-old WII veteran of the US Army's 101st Airborne Division, replicated his jump three-quarters of a century later during Wednesday's D-Day commemorative events. "I decided to honor those who didn’t come back, who were wounded, who walked away from it, who are deceased. Those are the guys who are the heroes,” Rice said on his decision to take part in the event.

Rice told CNN before the jump he was not nervous about replicating his feat. "They’re not shooting at us this time," he joked. "It’s much safer. And I’m going for the ride, it’ll be a lot of fun." (📸: Ludovic Marin and Bertrabd Guay/Getty Images)
