Hey it’s me ya girl telling you to wear a mask because there’s a crazy pandemic going on, remember? Goggles optional but they also come in handy when the cops try to tear gas crowds you know?
Speaking of which, maybe it’s time we give less money to the police so they don’t have the funds to carry tear gas, or rubber bullets? While I have your attention, google the 1033 program which literally militarizes the police. Would be nice to use that money towards communities that are underfunded, over incarcerated and over policed. Wherever you are in the US, put pressure on your representatives to divest from your police department. Happy Monday! #wearadamnmask

🚨 NEW YORKERS 🚨 SWIPE AND SHARE PLEASE!!! Mayor de Blasio is still not supporting significant steps to divest from the NYPD—and the city’s budget is due tomorrow. Members of the city council have the power to approve or deny the mayor’s budget, and we need to make sure that they stay firm and vote down any budget that does not include at least $1 billion in real cuts to the NYPD. One key step toward reducing police violence is reducing the number of interactions between police officers and the public. That starts with drastic cuts to the NYPD's immense $6 billion budget—and a massive reinvestment in social services that actually provide safety and support to our communities.
