Treating acne-prone skin on a budget 🌿
Having combination/acne-prone skin can be SUPER frustrating. You have to use trial & error to figure out what’ll work for you, that can get pricy. I suggest starting out with The Ordinary products because they’re affordable and work great... Here are a few things I’ve been using for a daily routine:
🌫 Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5: hyaluronic is a GREAT product for acne-prone skin, because it hydrates your skin without leaving an oily residue behind.
🌫 Salicylic Acid 2%: I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to incorporate this into my everyday routine. Salicylic acid is VITAL for acne-prone skin because it’s one of the very few BHA’s in skincare. It actually works deep inside your pores. It’s also great for oily skin, and blackheads.
🌫 Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA: this is a great moisturizer as it doesn’t clog the pores or leave an oily residue behind, but hydrates like crazy. It applies really nicely under makeup.
🌫 Mineral UV Filters SPF 30 with Antioxidants: ok - even if it’s not sunny or its winter, YA NEED TO WEAR SUNSCREEN. ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE ACNE. Even though you’re not getting a tan, UV rays hit your skin constantly and cause damage to your skin cells. It’s tough to find one that will work well with irritated skin, but I’ve been enjoying this one.
The great thing is, all of these products range between $5 - $10 so you’re not breaking the bank! 🌿
